Thanks
to Swifters Travis Foss, Lonnie Autry, Tom Palmer, Roger Cain, Don Duke,
Dan Harper, Jamie Colvin, David Garcia and Allan Erickson for their contributions to this issue.
THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!!!

|
California Swifter Travis
Foss sent in the awesome pics above and below and writes...
"A couple of weeks ago I was up at Frazier Lake and had the honor of flying Lonnie Autry's swift for some photos. The really neat thing is Lonnie's Swift is N80819 and my buddy Tom Palmer's Swift is N80820! How often do you get to see Sister Swift's together??
The photos were taken by Roger Cain.
Just thought they would be fun to share." |

EL PASO IN '76

From
the photo album website "flckr.com" this black & white pic was
taken by
a gent who calls himself "thevid". His caption to this pic reads...
"Globe Aircraft Company Swift at the T-Hangers located at the El Paso
Tx International airport.
September 1976. Taken with my first 35mm camera, a Minolta SRT-202 with normal
lens."

FROM THE ERICKSON COLLECTION...

|
So-Cal Swifter Allan
Erickson provides this VERY early ad from Globe AircraftCorp.
The interesting deal here is how much this artist's conception looks
like the "Johnson Rocket" prototype
that is now 99.99% believed to be the Globe Swift prototype.
(Wonder what they mean by, "...Wide Awake Dealers...") |
BACK IN THE DAY... SWIFT FIRST
FLIGHT?

From
the Allan Erickson collection. Pic is not dated. Script at bottom reads...
"First flight of the Globe Swift over grain field RS Johnson
Pilot"
