Bridges Online & Offline Systems
The Card Value Center bridges the gap between iAmecs online and offline debit card systems. By offering account-to-card and cash-to-card capabilities in one unit, the CVC makes it easy for account holders - as well as occasional users - to enjoy the benefits of card access. This increased convenience stimulates overall card usage throughout the system, resulting in increased sales and revenues.

Allows for Online Transfers from Credit and Debit Cards
In online systems, such as those tied to banks or other financial institutions, the CVC allows account holders to transfer money from bank accounts to the stored value portion of their user cards. In a corporate or college campus environment, these transfers can take place from an online meal plan host to the offline stored value card.

Transferring funds is as simple as selecting "account-to-card" from the menu, swiping the card's ID stripe, inserting the card into the reader, and keying in the transfer amount. The transferred funds can then be used for multiple offline applications, such as purchases from vending machines, laundry services, photocopying, laser printing, parking, and low-value POS. The more applications established to use the card, the more successful the overall system will be since users have added incentive to put money on the card.

The CVC also offers the ability to process, authorize, and reconcile host credit or debit card transactions, As part of this enhanced capability, the CVC can accept major credit cards - and communicate directly with credit card processors - for the purpose of adding value to user stored value cards or dispensing cards. Credit card transactions may also be routed through the iAmecs95 host system interface. For transfers from debit card networks (such as a bank ATM system) to stored value cards, an optional DES pinpad is available to permit encrypted PIN (Personal Identification Number) entries. In addition to simplifying card revalue operations, the CVC can also be used to automate the sales of temporary or "guest" cards. This eliminates the need for someone to staff this function, while making it possible for visitors to buy and begin using cards at any time of the day or night. Even if a staff member could easily assume this task, it certainly would be impractical for them to do it 24 hours a day, seven days a week - not so with the CVC. The CVC also stores up to 600 bills, minimizing cash collections and limiting the number of times the machine must be opened.

Automates Card Sales
In addition to simplifying card revalue operations, the CVC can also be used to automate the sales of temporary or "guest" cards. This eliminates the need for someone to staff this function, while making it possible for visitors to buy and begin using cards at any time of the day or night. Even if a staff member could easily assume this task, it certainly would be impractical for them to do it 24 hours a day, seven days a week - not so with the CVC. The CVC also stores up to 600 bills, minimizing cash collections and limiting the number of times the machine must be opened.

Captures Outside Funds that Would Otherwise Be Lost
With no online funds to draw from, non-account holders are often reluctant to utilize a closed card system because it simply isn't convenient. The CVC draws in these occasional users by allowing them to insert cash - $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills - to add value to their cards. Now that adding value to cards isn't a hassle, these users will more readily utilize the various card-based applications - increasing sales and profits.

Optional Printed Receipts
Just like an ATM, the CVC can also be fitted with a printer that provides users with a printed receipt for their offline or online transactions. This makes the CVC even more user friendly, giving card holders an easy way to "reconcile" their accounts or keep records of monies added to cards - without having to bother the office for an account update.

Card Service Center
Automates card sales and/or cash add value operations at your institution. Unlike the CVC, the CSC is not capable of communication with the iAmecs System to transfer value to a card. The CSC is a full-featured, stored value card station. Patrons can use it to purchase new cards, add value to existing smart or magnetic stripe cards, or both! This all-in-one approach stimulates card sales and usage - increasing revenues, while at the same time eliminating manual card sales and their associated cash handling problems.

Card Purchases and/or Add Value
Two basic CSC models are available. Either can be upgraded for both dispense and add value capabilities for the greatest convenience and ease of use.

The CSC/BASE provides card purchase capabilities only and features programmable card pricing and bill acceptance criteria. All cards must be pre-encoded - or initialized - before being offered for sale. Optional magnetic stripe, protected memory, or smart card reader kits can be added to give the CSC "add value" capability.

The CSC/AV is for card "add value" applications only. Available with a magnetic stripe card, protected memory card, or microprocessor smart card reader, this unit enables patrons to add value to their cards by inserting cash - $1, $5, $10, or $20 bills - until the desired value is reached.

Adding the optional Card Dispenser Kit provides the CSC/AV with card purchase capabilities.

Designed with Security in Mind
The Card Service Center features a heavy-duty steel cabinet, with a high-security T-Bar lock, that protects stored cards and cash. Hidden hinges on the steel door ensure even greater security, and the entire unit can be recessed into the wall to further protect it against vandalism.

CSC data ( including total dollars inserted, cards dispensed, dollars deposited for add value operations, and more) is secured through the use of resettable and non-resettable counters. These totals are easily accessed via management and internal keys - or with the unit's optional communications capability via a PC.

Features

  • Allows selective acceptance of $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. Each bill type may be accepted for card purchases only, for add value operations only, for both operations, or not at all.
  • 400-bill downstacker maximizes card vending capability between cash collections
  • High security, 14-gauge steel cabinet with 12-gauge steel door and T-Bar lock
  • Unit can be wall mounted or completely recessed into the wall for increased security
  • Resettable/non-resettable totals and counters for accounting accuracy and data security
  • Optional communications allow all configuration and reporting tasks to be handled from a portable laptop or centralized PC

Laundry
iAmecs laundry controllers eliminate the need for bill changers on the wall or coin acceptors on the washers and dryers. Your students use the machines more because they don't have the hassle of needing change. Your laundry operator likes the system because he doesn't have the hassle of coin collection.

Centralized Machine Control
The iAmecs laundry controller provides convenient IC chip-based smart card, protected memory card, or magnetic stripe card (credit account or debit) access to up to 20 machines - washers and/or dryers. In fact, the only other thing required for some installations is an internally mounted washer or dryer interface (LMI). Combined, iAmecs laundry controller and LMI activate the machines, record machine activity, and relay timely status information - such as the number and types of machines available for use.

Cashless Convenience & Security
By bringing the security and convenience of card-access technology to today's laundry facilities, the LCU II eliminates the need for coins. The resulting cashless environment greatly reduces the threat of theft and vandalism - as well as provides peace of mind for patrons, who no longer need to carry substantial amounts of change.

The programmable cost per cycle can be set in increments of 1, from 1 to $9.99. Separate pricing can be set for each washer/dryer - along with discounting by user group, time of day, or both.

When used with electro-mechanical dryers, users also have the option of adding "top-off" time beyond the normal cycle length.

Resettable and non-resettable counters record total cycles and total dollar value for each and for all machines - along with totals by user group and individual credit account totals. With the addition of the optional communications capability, data collection, reporting, and setup tasks can all be handled from a central PC.

Vending
Convenient card access to food, beverage, and specialty vending machines, these readers can accept Smart Card Applications, Propriety Magnetic Off-Line Debit Cards, or ABA Magnetic Stripe On-Line Cards directly to iAmecs. Can be used with most existing coin and bill mechanisms. Compatible with most single-price, multi-price, and International Multi-drop BUS (IMDB) machines. If you are contemplating starting a self-operated vending operation we can supply top, name-brand vending machines with readers already installed.

Card Vending Control Units bring convenient - and secure - card technology to the cash-based vending world. Going from cash to card increases revenues, reduces costs, and simplifies audit procedures. In particular, card acceptance eliminates the need for "correct" change, one of the leading causes of lost sales.

Fewer cash vends mean reduced money handling problems and costs. Card readers further simplify this process by electronically recording all coin, bill, and card purchases (interface dependent). The resulting data can then be downloaded using a smart collector card, hand held PC, management cards or remote communications (all without opening the vending machine). This reduces the number of people with access to the machine's interior and, in doing so, lessens the potential for theft.
