WCR goes to ChinaThis trip was led by Barbara Tropp of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs in October 1999 with the invitation
from the Chinese Women's Association of Science and Technology. We went from Beijing to Xi'an, Chengdu,
Yangzhou and finally Shanghai, traveling by plane, bus, train and ferry. We visited eight cooking schools in four
regions, ranging from local trade schools to regional culinary schools to China's sole and impressive culinary
university. Here are a few pictures from places which enlightened and touched us.
