2. Daniel² Heckathorn (John¹) #696 was born in Sugar Creek, Seneca Co., OH February 13, 1818. Daniel died October 24, 1893 in OH, at 75 years of age.

He married Mary Rubins in OH, April 15, 1841. (Mary Rubins #501.) Mary was born in Lincolnshire, England January 19, 1822. She was the daughter of Edward Rubins and Ann Blow. Mary died February 12, 1913 in Kenton, OH, at 91 years of age.

Daniel Heckathorn and Mary Rubins had the following children:

3 i. Adelaide³ Heckathorn #699 was born in Hardin Co., OH April 3, 1842. Adelaide died October 1, 1850 at 8 years of age.

+ 4 ii. Simeon Charles Heckathorn was born June 27, 1845.

5 iii. John Edward Heckathorn #701 was born in Hardin Co., OH January 14, 1849. John died September 30, 1850 at 1 years of age.

+ 6 iv. Henry Ethan Heckathorn was born July 18, 1852.

+ 7 v. Thomas Allen Heckathorn was born May 24, 1855.

+ 8 vi. Jeduthun Chalmers Heckathorn was born March 6, 1860.
