He married Susan E. Levee in Little Falls, Herkimer Co., NY, November 30, 1887. (Susan E. Levee #862.) Susan was born in Little Falls Hospital, Herkimer Co., NY November 11, 1865. She was the daughter of Michael Levee and Nancy Bellinger. Susan died May 31, 1940 in St. Johnsville, Montgomery Co., NY, at 74 years of age.⁽⁶⁾

Douglas S. Ackerman and Susan E. Levee had the following children:

Levee D.³ Ackerman #1661 was born in St. Johnsville, Montgomery Co., NY December 23, 1889.⁽⁷⁾ Levee died October 30, 1971 in Little Falls Hospital, Herkimer Co., NY, at 81 years of age.⁽⁸⁾ He married Elsie J. Gardner October 30, 1963. (Elsie J. Gardner #1938.) Elsie died May 1979 in Wayne, PA.
