2. Jan² Dereth (Joost¹ Dareth) #1939 was born 1710. Jan died January 28, 1748/49 in Albany, Albany Co., NY.

He married Anna DeVoe in Albany Dutch Reformed Church, Albany Co., NY, August 15, 1735. (Anna DeVoe #1940.) Anna was born 1715. She was the daughter of Peter DeVoe and Annatje Bisset. Anna died after 1748.

Jan Dereth and Anna DeVoe had the following child:

3 i. Catherine³ DeRet #1684 was born in Albany, Albany Co., NY 1739. She married Jacob Heemstraat in Albany Dutch Reformed Church, Albany Co., NY, November 5, 1763. (Jacob Heemstraat #1683.) Jacob was born in Schenectady, NY 1743. He was the son of Johannes Heemstraat and Bata Quackenbosch. (See Jacob Heemstraat for the continuation of this line.)
