Attended the City and Country School, the Lincoln School (High School of Columbia University), had a year or so at Stevens Tech. and then worked at the Dalton School-taught fourth grade. Joined the US Army Air Corps after Pearl Harbor and became a member of the Army Air Transport Command. Flew many types of planes and delivered them from factories to air bases around the world. After the war he flew for a short time out of Newark [NJ] for a newly organized freight airline, which, like many others, went bankrupt. He then returned to the Dalton School to teach 7th and 8th grade science. Met me--we married, and both taught at Dalton. We began to lilve year round in New City [Rockland County, NY] in '51. He stopped teaching in '53 and worked for a yar building scenery for a New York City theatre firm; and then joined Orange and Rockland Utilities as a gas engineer. In the meantime he was elected to the local school board and served for several years. Also was a member of the Clarkstown Zoning Board.
