Take one amiable ghost named Sophie, a ninety-year-old man with a European accent and add a scattering of younger men and women anywhere from thirty to eighty. Throw this mixture into a room and what do you have? You have the Napa Valley Scribblers' Guild.
Most of the writers met fifteen years ago in a creative writing class offered by Napa Valley College. When economic pressures forced the closing of the St. Helena class, several people decided to form their own group and the Napa Valley Scribblers' Guild was formed.
From a gathering of unpublished amateurs the Scribblers has metamorphosed into a group of polished, published and award-winning
writers. Occasionally members drop out to pursue other interests while new people join from time to time. The writers may
change but the spirit of the group remains: support through laughter and love and respect. One person's triumph is everyone's
triumph. Current members are:
| Phyllis Angel | Ann Newton Holmes |
| Hugh Brereton | Helene LeBlanc |
| K.J. Dietz | Chet Moore |
| Charles Hatvany | Beth Rodda |
