: As a person in the US Army approaches eligibility for rather high rank, Colonel and Brigadeer General,
: selection among equally highly qualified candidates just might be swayed slightly by what was perpetrated
: on him by some anti-military, anti US entities. It certainly had embarassment potential.

I've re-read the information and I think it has much more than embarassment potential:

SECTION: Regional News

DISTRIBUTION: California

LENGTH: 310 words

DATELINE: UKIAH, Calif.

BODY:
The parents of four children molested several years ago in Mendocino
County told a news conference Tuesday that their youngsters have since
identified an Army officer who worships Satan as a participant in rites of
sexual abuse.

The parents alleged that Lt. Col. Michael Aquino, high priest of the
devil-worshiping Temple of Set, was identified in photo lineups shown to two
boys and two girls.

The parents said the lineups were conducted recently by the Army's Criminal
Investigations Division, which was called by Ukiah police.

Police chief Fred Keplinger declined to discuss details of the investigation
but did note that he asked the Army for help because his cases were similar
to a widely publicized child-abuse case two years ago at the Presidio of
San Francisco's day-care center.

Aquino was linked to that case, but was never accused. He steadfastly denied
any chid abuse.

He and his wife, now in St. Louis, told Army investigators last week that
they were perplexed by the allegations and were innocent of any wrong-doing.
