I searched for "Cunningham" within the last week (today being within a week of the article date) at the Tacoma News Tribune article search page, http://search.tribnet.com/

Success, and the URL is http://search.tribnet.com/archive/90days/0227b85.htm - but this may be a short-lived search-result URL, so if that fails, just do the above search again.

Both the URLs above are "clickable", so you don't need to retype them.

Prosecutor Gary Riesen asks for release
: (AP) Wenatchee)
: Feb. 27, 1999 (The News Tribune, Tacoma)
(first paragraph) The Chelan County prosecutor has asked that the conviction be overturned for a man who pleaded guilty in the Wenatchee child sex-abuse investigations to raping and molesting three of his four daughters.
4th paragraph: "We never expected this case to come back," Riesen said Thursday.
Last 2 paragraphs: In a petition to overturn Cunningham's conviction, lawyers Glenn Draper and Neal Philip criticized work of public defender Jeffrey Barker and the interviewing methods of police detective Bob Perez.
They also cited evidence from witnesses who were not interviewed by Barker or police.

Comment: This was at the Washington State Court of Appeals
