Amazing Spider-Man #2 Summary

Amazing Spider-Man #1 we met J. Jonah Jameson. J.J.J. is owner of the big local paper, The Daily Bugle.
Jameson's son is also an astronaut, who's life is threatened in a low orbit mission. Sider-Man rescues J.J.J.'s
son, but that only adds fuel to the fire of J.J.J.'s war of words against Vigilantes in general, and Spider-Man
in particular.

This editorial campaign of J.J.J.'s is to haunt Spider-Man for many, many years. As a result of it Spider-Man
is often feared and hated, and frequently hunted by the police and other rightously indignant individuals.
Various reasons for J.J.J.'s actions are given over time; often jealousy or shame of his own cowardice, but
sometimes more moral, such as a firm belief that vigilantes are not the solution to crime.

In either case, Peter needs money and in Amazing #2, he uses an automatic camera to take pictures of
himself during the Vulture fight. He sells these pictures to J.J.J., and becomes a freelance photographer. He
supports himself and his Aunt May for many years this way - with an endless stream of Spider-Man
pictures. It is typically assumed that Peter has a deal with Spidey, where Spider-Man tells Peter where the
fight will be in return for a share of the profits.
