Gameplay
Gameplay in 10six is mostly built up into 3 stages: building your base, attacking or
defending, and buying and organizing LEDO's. The player starts
out the game by choosing a corporation. This decision
will decide what kinds of buildings, rovers, and weapons you will have available to build
throughout the game. Next, you will choose a plot of land from one of the available 1
million plots and stake a claim. Here's where the fun begins.
You teleport to your barren plot of land and have a few LEDO packs at your disposal,
including a nerve center. The nerve center serves as your commando center; it is where you
oversee your base, buy your LEDO packs from, and teleport to different plots of land.
Without your nerve center, you cannot do anything. You also receive varoius buildings from
each different type of LEDO. There is an armor, research, weapon, rover, and gear factory
that you get when you start. You will build up your base by mining transium and then
trading that transium for money. That money can be transfered into more LEDO packs for
to get more random LEDO's at your disposal. You will add to your base defenses, rovers,
transium storage, and other enhancements before you will want to expand to another plot of
land. As long as you do not teleport out of your base, you are under corporate protection
for a limited amount of time. Why would you teleport out? Why to attack somebody of course.
Attacking someone requires a great deal of planning; blindly rushing into someones base
will not be very effective. You need to gather transium for weapons, build attacking rovers,
and scout out the area. Attacking has been compared to RTS games because of the amount
of rovers that you can control. If you defeat your enemies base, you receive everything
that he had in that area. You can receive a great deal of LEDO's by attacking someone,
but if you are defeated, they obtain all of your LEDO's.
Between all of this building and attacking, you are always mining transium and buying
LEDO packs. You need to know what packs to keep and what packs to sell back to your
corporation because you can only store so many LEDO's and anything you build has a
transium upkeep. You can also trade players money or LEDO's for anything they own, which
is a much easier way to get exactly the LEDO you want.
Because the game is always running, you are always in danger of getting attacked. Because
base defenses can be whittled down over time, it is good to have many allies that can
defend you when you are not playing. If one of your allies is under attack when they
are not on, you will get an audio and visual warning, and will be expected to help them
out.
More features are being added all the time and 10six may evolve quite a bit before it is
released some time in 1999.
