330 PC Club Kill-pot Rules
What
A kill-pot is when the limits for the next hand double and the
winner of the last hand will be forced to post double the
blind/ante/forced bet amount. The winner who forced the kill-pot is
known as the killer. Kill-pots do not apply to scratcher
tournaments.
When
A kill-pot is declared as follows:
1. Non-split pot games: whenever one player wins two consecutive
hands.
2. Split-pot games (hi-low, High Chicago, etc.): whenever one
player qualifies for and wins both hands in one pot. A three-way
split pot (as occasionally occurs in Omaha 8) will still qualify as a
kill-pot.
3. During a kill-pot the killer wins. (Rule 2 in effect if a
split-pot game).
Kill-pot limits
50¢ to $2 anytime, 50¢ to $4 on the last betting
round.
Or
$2 to $8 anytime, $16 on the end.
Posting
- Blinds/Antes: When a kill-pot is declared the blinds/antes
will be posted as usual by the next player(s) to the left of the
dealer button. However, the killer will post double the big blind
amount or double the ante amount. Regardless of the killer's
seating position, the killer will have last action (first betting
round only). If the killer is in a seating position to post the
next blind/ante anyway, he/she will post double only and not the
usual blind amount plus double.
- Forced bets: If a game is called requiring a forced bet
depending on a players up card (i.e. 7-Stud, low card forced; or
Razz, high card forced) the killer will post double the declared
amount as a blind bet prior to the deal. This bet will be made
instead of the low/high card player being forced. The killer will
get an option to raise, or re-raise, as last action.
Examples
- Ante, 25¢: player(s) will post 25¢, killer will post
50¢ and get last action.
- Blinds, 25¢ and 50¢: players to the left of the
dealer button will post 25¢ and 50¢ blinds respectively,
the killer will post $1. If the killer is in the first or second
seat to the left of the dealer button the killer will post $1
only. The killer will get last action.
- Forced bet, low card or high card forced for 25¢: the
killer will post 50¢ prior to the deal. The players, starting
to the left of the killer, may fold, call or raise regardless of
the up cards. The killer gets last action.
- The killer gets last action on the first betting round
only.
Marker
During non-split pot games a kill lamer will be included in the
pot. It shall sit in front of the winner of the last hand as a
marker. The lamer will be returned to the pot if the player holding
the lamer folds their hand. If a player with a kill lamer is pushed a
pot it can easily be seen that the next pot is a kill-pot. The dealer
button will be turned from OFF to ON indicating a kill-pot.
A kill lamer is not required during split-pot games as any player
scooping a pot both ways will automatically force a kill-pot in the
next hand. The dealer button will be turned to ON.
