The Best of Tuscany Tour
Your vacation begins in the
medieval city of Siena, the setting for Italy’s famous Palio race, with a descriptive
overview of Italian wines at the city’s Enoteca Italiana di Siena. During the next
seven days you will put this knowledge to the test as we visit private winery estates to
tour, taste and dine with the owners. A highlight will be to visit the legendary Biondi
Santi at his magnificent estate.
Local super chef Fiorenzo
Bonci and Chef David will lead a hands on cooking demonstration that samples the
simplistic pleasures of Tuscan cuisine. Our very capable guide, Signora Elana Morelli,
will lead us on informative, personal tours to special sites not visited by most tourists:
a 12th century spa, ancient cellars and Eutruscan tombs, an local olive oil manufacturer,
and a 14th century Abby to hear Gregorian chanting monks.
This is a very special tour
created to highlight the best of Tuscany: its food, wine and spectacular countryside. My
local contacts have helped us to gain access to sites not normally open to the public. I
